Long before Cornwall became synonymous with Arthurian lore, it was prized across the ancient world for its metals. With great value came the need for defence, leaving the landscape rich with hill forts, burial mounds for kings and warriors, and later, grand castles.

As the stories of King Arthur and Merlin spread across the county, older sites with much deeper roots became places of great importance to Arthurian enthusiasts.
