Cornish droll tellers were wandering storytellers who travelled between farms, cottages and inns during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In exchange for bed and board, they shared local news, songs and mythic tales, keeping Cornwall’s oral tradition alive through stories known as drolls.
Without them, and without those who later preserved their tales, Dark Cornwall would not exist.
Sit down, grab your favourite drink and peer through the eyes of the Droll Teller.
