Humans first arrived in Cornwall during the Palaeolithic period. They came from across the Eurasian landmass, but the first hard evidence of people settling in this land occurred during the Mesolithic era. Settlement then steadily grew through the Neolithic period and into the Bronze and Iron Ages. These were sophisticated people who built a highly significant centre of trade, especially in tin, and created many of the standing stone sites that you can still see today.

But why did they build these structures? What were their customs and ritual activities? How did they thrive in this rugged landscape?

Step into the boots of The Ancients to find out more.
