About the event
Spend a full day at the new Dark Cornwall Studio and Creature Workshop learning how to build your own hand crafted mask in time for Montol. Guided by our Head of Creature Workshop, Calista Wild, you will work through every stage of construction using professional materials and techniques. Two avian designs are available, a Barn Owl and a Corvid, both created especially for this workshop. You are welcome to attempt other creatures of your own invention, but we cannot promise they will be completed within the day.
Calista is a specialist in masks, creatures and prosthetic effects, with a Masters from Falmouth University. Her recent work includes the Dark Cornwall Owlman created for the National Trust and several pieces held in the Cabinet of Folklore and Magic in Falmouth.
