About the event
Join us on 21 February from 10 am to 6 pm for a full-day Dragon Masking Workshop led by Calista Wild and Rob Vickery.
This immersive workshop invites participants to design and build their own dragon mask using recycled materials, with all tools, materials and lunch provided. The focus is not only on making, but on understanding dragons as cultural beings rooted in folklore, landscape and human imagination. Each mask will include a crafted lower jaw, allowing your creation to move, speak and carry voice, giving space for your inner dragon to emerge.
Throughout the day, Rob will be sharing dragon folklore from across cultures and centuries. From the Dragon or Trewoofe Well, Laidley Wyrms of Spindlestone Heugh and the Gurt Vurm of Shervage Wood, to cockatrices, wyverns, horned serpents from Native American traditions, and Kukulkan the great feathered serpent, these stories are shared with passion, generosity and genuine love.…
